Macon County Office Building Now Open

The Macon County Office Building is now open to the public. Visitors are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Masks will not be provided by the County. Each office may have additional safety precautions depending on their operations, so it is suggested to contact the office prior to visiting. To avoid crowding, it is recommended that business continue to be done online or by mail when possible.

April 2020 Collection Events – Canceled; No Collection Events Scheduled

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced yesterday (3/15/2020) the recommendation that event organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States. Following this guidance, and with concern for the health of the residents of Macon County, the Macon County Environmental Management Department has made the decision to cancel the April 4th electronics collection and the April 18th paint collection events and will not be scheduling any other collection events until further notice.
